Use CoughWise as a private wellness and awareness aid, not as medical care.
Not a medical device
CoughWise does not diagnose, screen for, treat, cure, or prevent any illness or condition. Its detector is imperfect: cough-like sounds may be missed and other sounds may be counted. Scores, trends, reports, reminders, and exports are estimates for awareness and are not medical advice. If a cough persists, is severe, or gets worse, seek a qualified medical professional.
Your recordings
You are responsible for using recording features lawfully and respecting other people nearby. Recordings stay on your device: CoughWise has no way to export or share audio. The doctor-visit summary export and a night’s share image leave the device only if you choose to share them.
Free and Premium access
The free tier includes recording every night, the whole-night timeline and playback, counts of possible cough-like sounds, Cough Scores, the ranked loudest moments, corrections, per-night notes, starring a night to keep its recording past automatic clean-up, deleting a single night, on-device morning reports, your seven most recent nights and their seven-night trend, a preview of the first page of the doctor-visit summary, the home-screen widget, and optional reminders, including the weekly summary notification. Premium adds export of the doctor-visit summary as PDF and CSV, keeps nights older than your seven most recent listed and playable while their audio is retained, and adds the 28-day view and multiple sleeper profiles. The doctor-visit summary describes your recorded nights; it is not a medical record or a medical assessment.
Purchases
CoughWise Premium is a single one-time non-consumable purchase. It is not a subscription: there is no trial period, it does not renew, and there is nothing to cancel. The price is confirmed by Apple before purchase and charged once to your Apple Account. Restore Purchases is available in the app and on your other Apple devices. Customers who bought a monthly or yearly CoughWise subscription before we moved to one-time pricing keep their access; those plans are no longer sold and can be cancelled in Apple Account Settings.
Availability
We work to keep local recording reliable, but device storage, microphone permissions, interruptions, operating-system behavior, or hardware can affect capture. CoughWise labels a recovered or interrupted capture as partial and uses recorded time rather than assuming a full night.
